Raloxifene is used for breast cancer prevention because it helps block the effects of estrogen, a hormone that can fuel certain types of breast cancer. Ralista 60 mg belongs to a class of drugs called Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators (SERMs), which act like estrogen in some parts of the body but block its effects in others.

Doctors prescribe raloxifene mainly for postmenopausal women at high risk of breast cancer. It is especially effective in reducing the risk of hormone receptor-positive (HR-positive) breast cancer, the most common type. Unlike estrogen-blocking treatments like tamoxifen, raloxifene also helps strengthen bones and is used to treat osteoporosis.

Although raloxifene lowers breast cancer risk, it’s not a cure or a treatment for active cancer. It’s important to discuss the benefits and potential side effects, such as blood clots or hot flashes, with a doctor before use.
